A great way to engage with issues you really care about is by getting in touch with your local MP. I contacted Ruth Dyson, the representative for my electorate, and she agreed to meet with me to talk youth engagement in politics over coffee in a local cafe. I think it’s awesome that in NZ we’re lucky enough to be able to get in touch with our politicians, and I found our conversation really valuable.
